My Vacation – A Very Quick Recap!

So I’m obviously back :)   LOL, great vacation!

Would have posted this yesterday, but didn’t want to mess with people’s minds by not posting my “Fitness Monday” post ON Monday :)

A quick recap of what I’ve been up to:  (please bear with me, I know I don’t usually post “personal” stuff here, but just wanted to share :)

  • Thank you to all who wished me a Happy Birthday a week or so back there, it is greatly appreciated!  My wife made a VERY healthy birthday dinner of chicken breast, (meat only) on the grill and a wonderful salad…  sure beat the *million* calorie burgers we had last year :) as far as my health is concerned!
  • I continued to drop weight!  Doing very well, hope to hit the 100lbs mark before my 1 year anniversary of starting this whole weight-loss thing :)
  • Got a bit o’ bad news… the interview in VA went well but the school district in question is going to “go with another qualified candidate(s)” so I will have to keep plugging away on that :)
  • Watched ALOT of back episodes of “Lost”… see Thursday’s post for more info ;) … Yes, I am addicted.
  • Went back and played an older game that I had shelved right as I began playing WoW… Sims 2!  What a cool game! :)   After a week of play, though, it is getting kinda predictable.  Maybe I’ll shelf it again for another 2 years and see how it is then.
  • Got alot done around the house that had been getting put off for awhile!
  • Went to my first professional body-builder show!  The annual Mr. Rochester NY!  What a blast! :)
  • Sorry to all who have been faithful readers/link exchanges with me and have noticed my absence in making comments and/or reading your blog posts!  :(   Been very busy being lazy and non-involved for a bit there, but I’m back with a vengence ;D

Well, it was back to work and reality on Monday for me, but I definitely had a good time abeit a bit hard there at the end with the bad news about the teaching gig, but like I said, we are trusting Him :)

Did some soul-searching as far as alot of things, including this blog.  I love writing, but not sure I can continue to devote QUITE as much time to it as I have been in the past.  I definitely want to continue writing, but maybe on a more limited basis.  We’ll see :)   Nothing major upcoming here, just in my thoughts, I’ll be sure to post more as I sort things out ;)

  • Wow that was one productive vacation you had there. I guess you can’t beat that. Sorry to hear about the job thing In Va. What happens, happens for a reason and I am sure our loving God has something better in store for you. Just keep the faith, bro.
nice to have you back though. I once played Sims but just could get the hang of it and felt it was a bit time consuming as well.
Glad to hear that your still on track and living the healthy life. Way to go, especially for being on vacation. that shows great motivation and determination, my friend.

  • It sounds as if you had a great trip, but it is too bad about the job. It doesn’t sound as if it has gotten you down, which is great. Just keep plugging away.

BTW, I know what you mean about blogging, but it is a real motivator for me. I think all your readers will understand if that is what you have to do, just don’t disappear.

  • You seem to be able to make good decisions about your life. If blogging gets bumped by something more important, then so be it. Do I correctly interpret that all the interviews have weight in and it’s not going to be Virginia for the El Nino? You know that if you are willing go go as far as Virginia, there are probably 25-30 more states to consider, although it’s probably too late for this year. Did you get any specific feedback from the interviewers about why you missed the mark. Sometimes they can be helpful if you have any way of contacting them in a friendly way. Maybe you do want to complete the MA – although I wouldn’t rush to judgement. Anyway, welcome back.

  • No, I didn’t get any *specific* feedback other than, “we’ve decided to go with a different candidate… not sure why I wasn’t accepted for this specific position, but I push onwards regardless :)

  • Welcome back, Nino.

Its your blog, so no obligations – just update as and when you want to. Blogging should be a joy, not a chore. ^_^

  • Looking back now, I realize I might have maybe misworded my original post, I LOVE posting to my blog, I think maybe I’m just trying to give myself permission to take a day off once in awhile :) Thanks :)
